Before and After Stump Grinding That Opens Up the Yard

Old stumps have a way of just sitting there. They're not doing anything useful, but they're always in the way - when you're mowing, when you're walking through the yard at night, when you're trying to clean up the space around your house. This one was sitting right up against the siding, which is exactly the kind of spot where you don't want a stump rotting away for years.

We ground it down and cleared it out. That's the Grind & Go approach - get in, do the job right, and leave the area usable. No half measures, no stump sitting an inch below grade waiting to catch a mower blade.

What most people don't realize is that a stump close to a structure like this isn't just an eyesore. It holds moisture, it can attract insects, and it's a genuine trip hazard - especially in areas that don't get much foot traffic until someone's suddenly walking there in the dark. Getting rid of it just makes the whole yard safer and easier to manage.

The area where the stump was is now level ground. You can seed it, cover it with mulch, or just let the surrounding yard fill in over time. Either way, that corner of the yard is actually usable now instead of something you have to work around every single time you're out there.

A good before and after says it all. One had a stump. The other doesn't. That's the whole point.
